As part of the Smallholder Adaptive Farming & Biodiversity Network (SAFBIN) Project, Madhya Pradesh Samaj Seva Sanstha (MPSSS) under the SAFBIN Project, successfully organised a Capacity Building Training for Self-Help Farmer Club (SHFC) members and Lead Farmers in Sunkuhi Village. The training aimed to strengthen farmers' knowledge and skills on climate-resilient agriculture and promote sustainable farming practices that enhance resilience to changing climatic conditions.
A total of 24 participants, including men and women farmers, actively participated in the training. The session focused on increasing awareness about climate change, its impact on agriculture, and practical adaptation measures that farmers can adopt to improve productivity while conserving natural resources.
Participants were introduced to key climate-resilient agricultural practices such as sustainable soil and water management, integrated farming approaches, crop diversification, efficient use of natural resources, and environmentally friendly farming techniques. The interactive discussions encouraged farmers to share their experiences, challenges, and locally suitable solutions for building resilient farming systems.
The training concluded with a collective commitment from the participants to adopt climate-smart agricultural practices and share the knowledge within their communities. Through such capacity-building initiatives, MPSSS, under the SAFBIN Project, continues to empower smallholder farmers with the knowledge and skills required to strengthen livelihoods, improve food security, and promote sustainable agriculture in rural communities.
