Try a Little Harder to Get something Better

Situation in the Beginning:  In village Sulyakhedi various campaign and issue based meeting organized by the CBOs, wherein many problems related the villages have been shorted out. Fixation of rationing shop in the village was one of them.

The Ration shop was situated in Bhuipahal village that is far 2 kilometers. But the Block officers have decided to shift the Ration shop in Kadakhedi village which is far 4 kilometer. People did not accept because they have transportation problem.

Intervention made: First of all the project staff organized an issue based meeting with villagers. The PDS shop shifting issue was discussed in the meeting. They decided to keep PDS shop Bhuipal village and they decided to work together.

Steps taken: Gyatri Bai, the leader icon of villagers has organized the people and convinced them to participate in the issue based meeting. Later they made a strategy that how to short out this particular problem. They prepared letters for the Collector, MLA, Janapad CEO, Block President and Sarpanch of the Panchayat. Block President accepted their application and approved the ration shop for villagers.

Present Situation: With immediate effect, Block president contacted to the food officer and given order to commence the rationing shop at Bhuiphal village. Villagers have assurance to each other to organized issue based meeting to solve problems of the village.
