Issue Name:- dress making

Introduction: satendi village under the jamner Center, whose distance is 8 km from Shujalpur  from the center, which is 8 km from the center, this village belongs to Sujalpur tehsil, the district is Shajapur. The total house in the village is 147 and the population of the village is 882. In which the village is 496 male and 383 female. Mewara society, Brahmins, Chamars, Balai, people of society live in the village. The village is mainly inhabited by the Mewada community, the village is divided into two parts. Anganwadi buildings, primary schools, government wells, temples etc. have been built in the village, two drains have come out near the village, there is no place for animal husbandry in the village as this village is surrounded by industrial area. In the middle of the village there are people of Mewada community, in the last part of the village, people of Harijan community live. All the people of the society reside in the village colony.

Situation in the beginning: The status of people of Mewada community is normal in Santendi village. Poor people do not have land, the main occupation of the people of the village is 13 people in the farming village. 15 people of the village employ themselves, poor people work as laborers. They do not have any kind of employment. The women of the village work in housework and farming. The condition of their house is pathetic.

Intervention/ Action made by the community & challenges: The work of grace in the village has been going on since 2012, in which the work of Water Leadership Development Project was started. Through the project, people were made aware of the purpose and activities of the institution, through meetings to the people, self-help groups, formation of core group local leader, gram sabha, government planning, social issues, micro planning, agricultural planning, Information was given on magnification work, skill training. The purpose of the project held after meeting people in the village was discussed. Local leaders were elected, community based organizations were formed, community meetings were organized under the Jan Vikas Project in the village, local leaders were given training, awareness on gram sabha was discussed on social issues, people made micro planning Selected the problems of the village and priotized  the problems.

All the women approached the government department and discussed to establish employment, and the application was made to the district panchayat, and women were given sewing training from the district. The tireless work of women got the task of sewing in which the work of stitching the dress of the school children was given. In January 2019, women applied to the Janpad Panchayat. On 1 September 2019, the women of the self-help groups of the village took the Sehore small cottage industry and then Later the sewing lady was given training in Shajapur.

Women faced many types of problems, men said that women will not go out of the house to do any work because women belonged to Mewara society. You guys have to stay at home and do the housework. Kare went out of the house and decided to do the sewing work.

Present situation: The women started dress sewing in January 2019, which included women from the self-help group, 10 women rented a room at Sushilabai's house and everyone kept their own sewing machine and school children from Janpad Panchayat Dress stitched for dress stitching. Dress started sewing in February 2019. 10 women completed 1860 dress stitching work, total employment of ? 55800. The women were very happy to see this. The people of the group also got to learn from the community that women too can work from home and can help in running the house.
