PRAGATI stands for ‘Programme of Research and Action to Generate Agro-Technical Initiative’.
Pragati is a registered society under Society’s Registration Act having the head office at Meghnagar, district Jhabua, Madhya Pradesh. One of the sub-centre of organization is at Dattigaon, block Sardarpur,District Dhar. It is a farmer’s training centre with well equipped facility for agriculture training and exposure. The area is very unique by way of culture, social, health, education, faith, politics etc. People are hard working, collaborative, understanding, caring, sociable etc. Agriculture remains primary occupation. Various methods are adopted in making agriculture as profitable business. Community receives support from the Government department and collaborates with likeminded organizations. Pragati Sanstha is highly active in creating awareness on various issues. Organization advocates the practice of ORGANIC FARMING in Jhabua and revival of MINOR MILLETS as sustainable source of livelihood. People are enthusiastic and have adopted sustainable practices in their lives
PRAGATI is providing solutions to the problem with the help of the people thus it is a people oriented NGO who believe in active participation of all stakeholders. A number of programs have been designed to cater the needs of the people. A mix of traditional and modern cultivation technology is adopted to address these issues. A number of programs have been launched on gender based issues, natural resource management (NRM), organic farming, advocacy, rain water harvesting and on livelihood programs to address the local needs. The project provides sufficient space for promoting NRM practices, reviving and innovating traditional agriculture, water conservation etc. Women led approach is being practiced through a systematic, close network of SHGs. Women are acting as change agents in their respective villages. Horticulture, organic farming skill building programs are running for farmers, women and drop out girls. Social and economic change can be noticed at targeted areas.
As we are aware that increasing spread of Covid-19 has become the most critical public health emergency all over the world, being the citizens of this country we need to take the following concerns seriously to contribute to the overall development:
· Creating job opportunities
· Providing skill development trainings
· Extending helping hands to the differently abled people
· Prioritizing the farmers and their concerns especially the productivity issue.
· Promoting the dignity of life
