Pradesh Samaj Seva Sanstha (MPSSS) organized a two-day training program on
community management of malnutrition for village volunteers and community
volunteers from 06th to 07th November 2023 at AICUF Ashram, Bhopal. The training was part of MPSSS's ongoing project- People
Led Development Process to enhance the skills, competencies, and abilities of
its volunteers. Forty-five participants from five partner organizations –
KDSS-Khandwa, Kripa-Ujjain, Pragti-Jhabua, MVSS, Sagar, and SSSS-Satna –
attended the training. The training was inaugurated by Rev. Fr. Shinto Abraham
and facilitated by resource person Mr. Vishambhar Nath Tripathi from Vikas
Samavd, Bhopal. The objective of the training was to empower participants
with the knowledge and skills necessary to effectively address health issues
related to hunger and malnutrition in their communities. The training focused
on strategies for improving community management of malnutrition with the
support of Anganwadi workers, Asha workers, and local communities.
Participants developed action plans outlining their
strategies for applying the training learnings to improve the situation of
malnutrition in their respective communities. They also committed to
documenting their efforts for future analysis and evaluation. All five
partner organizations submitted action plans to MPSSS, indicating their
commitment to implementing the training learnings and making a positive impact
on community health and nutrition.
